Privacy policy
This policy explains what information LivesWispear collects, why we need it, and the choices you have.
Who we are
LivesWispear is run from Koramangala 6th Block, Bangalore, Karnataka 560095, India. For anything about your data, email [CONTACT EMAIL].
What we collect
- Account details. When you join with email, we collect your email address, nickname and password. Your password is handled by Firebase Authentication, a Google service, and stored only in a protected form, so we never see it.
- Sign-in with Google or Apple. If you continue with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from that account. We don’t show your Google photo or real name to other members; you choose a nickname instead.
- Sign-in with your phone number. If you join with your phone, we collect your phone number so we can text you a one-time code. It’s used only to sign you in and keep your account secure, and it’s never shown to other members.
- Your member record. We keep a short record of your account: your nickname, how you signed in, your email or phone number, when you joined and last logged in, and that you confirmed you’re 18 or older and agreed to our guidelines. It’s stored in Google Cloud Firestore in India (Mumbai), protected by security rules so that only you and the LivesWispear founder can see it.
- What you share. When posting opens, we’ll store the posts, replies and messages you choose to share.
- Technical information. When our pages load, your browser connects to Google services (Firebase and Google Fonts), which receive your IP address and basic browser details. Phone sign-in also uses Google reCAPTCHA to stop automated abuse.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell your information, we don’t show ads, and we don’t use analytics or advertising trackers.
How we use your information
- To create your account, keep it secure and sign you in.
- To show your nickname and picture to you, and to other members when sharing opens.
- To send messages you need, such as confirming your email, resetting your password, or texting a sign-in code.
- To keep the community safe and enforce our community guidelines.
- To meet our legal obligations.
We process your information with your consent, which you give when you create an account, and for other uses permitted by India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Who we share it with
- Google (Firebase and Cloud Firestore) provides sign-in and stores your member record for us. Google encrypts this data on its servers.
- Hostinger hosts our website.
- Authorities, only when the law requires it or when someone’s life or safety is at serious risk.
Some of these providers may store information on servers outside India.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. You can delete your account yourself at any time from your menu (tap your picture, then Delete my account). If you ask us to delete your account instead, we’ll delete your personal information within 30 days, unless the law requires us to keep some of it longer.
Your rights
You can ask us for a summary of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, withdraw your consent, or nominate someone to act for you. Email [CONTACT EMAIL] and we’ll respond as required by law. If you’re not happy with our response, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
LivesWispear is for people aged 18 and over. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone younger, and we delete such accounts when we find them.
Security
Our site uses an encrypted (https) connection, and sign-in is handled by Google’s security systems. No system is perfectly secure, so please choose a strong password and don’t share it.
Changes
